Larry Williams and John Cade are both top-notch football players from Chicago. Each helps lead their school teams to championships and has professional opportunities. Larry, raised by his grandmother, lives poorly in a rough neighborhood. He decides that joining a gang is a good way to get ahead and finds himself making good money in a gang ultimately run by a Middle Eastern terrorist. He joins the army to learn to handle weapons better and learn how to command others, as he soon becomes a top leader in the gang.
In contrast, Cade comes from a wealthy family and dislikes the lawlessness he sees in Chicago. He forgoes playing in the NFL to join the Air Force. Cade has an idea to build miniature jets that can be used in urban areas to fight the crime and lawlessness he sees. Once he finds the right supporters, Cade's designs, known as G-strings, are developed and built by the Air Force. However, Cade has no idea that his aircraft will soon be the frontline against Larry's gang, which has grown to forty thousand strong and plans to use nuclear weapons on American soil.
Marcel's adventure story contains many elements that fans of the genre may find enjoyable, such as football games, fistfights, shoot-outs, and a terrorist plot. The plot is a bit outlandish at times, but Marcel's creativity is on full display. There are occasional grammatical errors, but these do not distract too much from a story that races to a high-octane conclusion. Those looking for over-the-top escapades where the fate of America is at stake will find plenty to like in this book.
