God's Grand Finale and the End of the Age
by Gary Longbrake
WestBow Press

"Humanity has many versions of how the last days and the end of the age will play out, but God has only one version."

While most end-times books emphasize concepts like Armageddon and are apocalyptic in nature, Longbrake’s work focuses on more of an evolution, a bridge from one age ending and a new one beginning. Using references from scripture, the author focuses on judgment and death in conjunction with the idea of belief and the act of literally seeing God. At the center of Longbrake’s work are the many biblical passages that demonstrate that one doesn’t always need eyes to see and that belief in the Lord far transcends the material world.

The idea that the end is really just a new beginning living in God’s light is a refreshing angle, one that encompasses love rather than fear, hope rather than darkness. From angelic visitations and prophets to multiple uncanny and timely earthquake stories, the author demonstrates the ways in which the Lord is always speaking to people. It is up to mankind to listen with celestial ears. For instance, Longbrake cites the atrocities against Israel and the firm resolve of the Lord to ensure that fitting retribution is enacted for those who attack the people of God.

The combination of scripture followed by the author’s commentary makes the piece easy to process for even the layman, whether that is featuring the Lord and his watchman on the highest of mountains, God hearing the pleas of Hezekiah, or the many other examples included within this work. As the day of the Lord looms on the horizon, the author implores humanity that the path to being saved is to be born again in the Word, the only way to truly understand God’s plan. And for those who do, as God did with his covenant with Abraham, a promise of everlasting love in God’s light is imminent.
