Its message offers solace to all who toil, resist their enemies, and wish to avoid worrying about basic needs. The author's introduction cites a relevant example. A psychiatrist once told a patient to read Psalm 23 three times a day to develop inner courage and comfort. In emotive language, Mann reveals how the Psalms promise hope, strength, and godly counsel, beautifully communicating personal thoughts, wishes, and religious aspirations.
