"I pray this book will be a Blessing to its readers… a light during the midnights of your journey."

Author Dean has arrayed one hundred texts from the New International Version of the Holy Bible, accompanied by salient comments to help readers absorb the fullest meaning. Wisdom is offered based on scriptures chosen from both the Old and New Testaments. “Chapter 1” quotes from the book of Romans, in which the apostle Paul reminds his acquaintances that they are filled with goodness because of their relationship with Jesus and should speak only of that. To this, Dean adds her wish that the spirit of Jesus will rest upon her readers.

In a message from Leviticus urging followers of Jesus not to make idols and promising them peace and prosperity, Dean presents her prayer to “develop and maintain a standard of truth and integrity.” “Chapter 81” portrays Luke’s description of Jesus riding on a donkey toward Jerusalem, to which Dean responds with a remembrance of Holy Week. The closing biblical passage from Corinthians states that the “earthly tent” or human body may be destroyed, but God has built an eternal home for believers. Likewise, Dean invites the Lord to dwell in her home and remove anything harmful from it.

Dean’s study of scripture led to a wish to share her personal realizations with a wider audience. Her chosen format of direct scriptural quotations, followed by her simple but sound comprehension of each, produces a powerful text, with each segment comprising a simple story or apt analogy, allowing even those less familiar with the biblical materials to envision it. Since all the author’s commentaries are devised to help Dean’s audience achieve a greater understanding of the profundities of biblical accounts, this sincere treatise doubtless will be welcomed, discussed, and appreciated in various religious settings.
