Author Frazier has devised a system designed to eliminate many of one's unexpressed negative traits and feelings and replace them with positive, energizing forces. His book allows the reader to self-diagnose, examining "negative character weaknesses" and working to achieve a positive view of others and themselves that will influence thought patterns and improve relationships. He begins with a list of guidelines or universal laws: don't worship idols, curse God, pervert justice, murder, commit adultery or incest, steal, or "eat flesh from an unkilled animal" (i.e., take advantage of the suffering of others). Frazier believes that his "Revelation of Why"—beginning with the simple willingness to ask "why"—can be utilized to avoid injurious behaviors and the attitudes that compel them. He has created lengthy, lively "skits" depicting typical life situations that evoke negativity and techniques to revise them, demonstrating how his innovative approaches can help readers overcome their weaknesses and achieve emotional and behavioral balance.
Frazier is a certified neuro-linguistic programmer who served in the military, worked in youth services, and as an extradition agent and sheriff's deputy. These experiences help inform his book as he draws from his accurate memory of many extremely difficult work scenarios and personal dilemmas from his marriage relationship, evoking a sense of the universality of conflict situations that readers can readily recognize. He offers numerous lists and illustrations to underscore his thesis. His skits bring the theories to life, demonstrating how, with just a few words, a negatively charged confrontation can be changed to reconciliation and a more positive sense of self among all parties. Frazier's highly rational, well-stated revelations can, he believes, help readers from all walks of life—and may be of particular benefit for prison inmates as they reenter society—to make better choices, benefitting the individuals and society as a whole.
