Disgusted over the prospect of having vegetable lasagna for dinner and angry with her mother's insistence on always cooking healthy meals, Jenny storms out of the house. She simply cannot understand why her family never enjoys fast food like other families in their neighborhood. Sitting in the cool shade of a tree in her backyard, she snacks on an apple before drifting into a deep sleep. Upon waking, she finds herself in the Village of Ensalada, where all the inhabitants are strong and healthy vegetables. Declared the best place to live by Jenny's newfound friend Carrotina, the village is facing a possible takeover by Cole and Lester All, brothers intent on using pizza parlors and fast food restaurants to clog the Village of Ensalada's main arteries. Reminded of her mother's lessons, Jenny sets out to save the village and find her way back home.
