Kimberly Adams

My work centers around compassion, friendship, and the quiet magic of everyday life. The Five Mile Charlie series grew from my love of small-town roots and timeless values—kindness, courage, and connection. Each book carries a moral thread that children can grow with and adults can reflect on. I write from the heart, blending realism and whimsy so readers can feel transported to a simpler, more hopeful world that still feels deeply human.

The Search for Dinky was inspired by the themes of adoption, belonging, and the meaning of family. I wanted to write a story that helped children understand that love isn't simply limited by blood. It's built by care, trust, and acceptance. Through Charlie and Carly's world, readers see how even the smallest acts of compassion can bring someone—or something—home again.

I'm continuing the Five Mile Charlie series with The House of Auntie Flora, a story that explores mystery, legacy, and the magic that lingers in old places. Beyond the books, I'm developing the Five Mile Charlie brand into new creative directions. My goal is to make the Five Mile Charlie world a living, breathing experience for families everywhere. Thank you for believing in Charlie's world and for sharing these stories with your families. Every message, every review, every child who smiles while reading. It keeps the magic alive. I hope these books remind readers, young and old, that kindness never goes out of style and that the world is still full of good hearts waiting to be found.

My experience with The US Review of Books has been wonderful. Their professionalism, thoughtful reviews, and support of independent authors make a real difference. It's encouraging to see an organization so dedicated to helping authentic stories find their audience. I'm deeply grateful for their recognition of all the books in the series. Their voice has had a very positive impact in amplifying my heartfelt series.
